3 Amazing Bible Lessons Celebrating Father’s Day!
Father’s Day in Australia is celebrated on the first Sunday in September. Very handy when you consider it’s the first weekend of our spring so a gift voucher from the hardware and gardening store is sure to be welcomed. Weekends are going to be full of gardening and barbequing. The same goes for the fishing and camping stores, too. If Dad loves to read it could be time for a new book. Whatever gifts Mum organises, there will also be cards and gifts from day care, school and Kid’s Church, handmade with varying degrees of skill, but loved nevertheless.
Finding Father’s Day lessons for my Kid’s Church was always a challenge, so since creating Cooee Kid’s Ministry almost three years ago, I write a new lesson for Father’s Day every year. I know that’s only three lessons to date, but if you’re new to the site, I’m still ahead of the game!
Super Dads (Dad’s to the Rescue!)
David and his mighty men return to Ziklag to find their families had been kidnapped! After seeking God’s advice, David and four hundred of his men set about rescuing their families. It was Dad’s to the rescue! Daddy God is in the business of rescuing, too. This lesson has a superhero theme, and includes ideas for a super obstacle course.

Dad’s Ark
A son and daughter are embarrassed by their Dad. Why do they always have to go to church? Why does Dad always have to say grace? Mum explains that Dad is ‘building an ark’ by putting his faith into action…just like Noah.

A Determined Dad’s Simple Faith
A lesson about a Dad determined to see his son set free. A son possessed by a demon that is trying to destroy him using fire, water and continual knocks to the head. The father uses his simple faith that says, ‘Jesus, I believe in You and in Your power, but I admit I do have doubts. Is my little faith enough?’ Yes it is! All things are possible to him who believes.

Celebrate the Dad’s in your Church this Father’s Day. They deserve to be honoured and thanked for the difficult job they do. They receive so much criticism so let’s uphold them and help them be fathers that demonstrate the loving nature of Father God.
God bless you as you bless Dad’s through your Kid’s Ministry,
