Moon Base Genesis 2

Ryan, Tristram, Leala, Stella and Pip don’t escape school even if they do live on the moon!  Together with their parents they are part of the new Earth colony on Moon Base Genesis 2.  Their teacher Luna may be the latest in artificial intelligence but it doesn’t know a thing about the real story of Creation and other facts from Genesis.  So the children give it an education.  However, when Lunar decides it knows better than its creators, the Moon Base is put in imminent danger.  Can the children rescue Moon Base Genesis 2?

This series of five lessons uses a frame narrative style of storytelling to give children context for Biblical truths so they can apply them to their own lives.

Crafts and Activities:

Why not try some of these craft and activity ideas?  (You’ll find 1000’s more on the internet!)

• Study the night sky and learn the names of the stars and planets (an app on your phone can help you)
• Design a space probe for space exploration or a moon base to live in
• Create a robot or rocket from recyclables (like cardboard and plastic) paint it or wrap it in aluminium foil
• Print out the black and white illustrations by artist Nic Taylor and use them as colouring sheets
• Make a space back pack from a cereal box
• Make a terrarium or mini Garden of Eden and add plastic animals

 

One of my favourite Psalms is Psalm 19.  I particularly love reading verse one from the Passion Translation:

God’s splendour is a tale that is told;

his testament is written in the stars.

Space itself speaks his story every day

through the marvel of the heavens.

His truth is on tour in the starry vault of the sky,

showing his skill in creation’s craftsmanship.
