Ten new and free-to-download lessons for your Children’s Ministry!

It’s a wonderful blessing to wake up in the morning and think, ‘What will I get to write today?’  I don’t always know.  Ideas often rise during my personal Bible study time.  The Super Sunday lesson, ‘Bless the Lord, O My Soul’ was one of those quiet-morning gifts.  Others come from sermons preached at Church.  The Bible Lesson, ‘Lay the Letter Down’ grew from a message shared by one of our worship team.  And sometimes my attention is caught by a troubling trend.  The multi-purpose lesson, ‘Honour Your Father and Mother’, which appears under Bible Lessons, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, was written to gently warn children against the growing and concerning popularity of adopting a ‘no contact’ stance towards parents.  My prayer is that you find these lessons useful, and that your heart is encouraged as you remember this:  God has given your life purpose.  You are serving Him, and you are ministering to children – work that matters deeply.   

Bible Lessons

Count the Cost!  (Discipleship Tested, Luke 14)

Following Jesus is the best decision we can ever make – but it’s not a casual one.  There is more to being His follower than simply accepting an invitation.  Jesus wants us to think carefully, choose wisely, and follow Him with our whole hearts.

Don’t Just Stand There – Do Something!  (Heroes of the Faith, Hebrews 11)

This lesson helps children understand that real faith takes action.  We don’t just say we believe in God – we show it by obeying Him, loving others and doing what He asks!

As children hear King Hezekiah’s story, they’ll learn a powerful truth for their own lives:  when people say hurtful things, we can always go to God with them – just like Hezekiah did when he laid his letter down before the Lord.

Play Your Part (The Parable of the Talents; Matthew 25)

Children learn that God has given each of them a ‘unique’ part to play, just like instruments used in an orchestra.  When each one uses their gifts faithfully, God creates something beautiful.  This lesson includes a comedic skit!

Bless the Lord, O My Soul (Balloon Day!  Psalm 103:1-5)

Children learn to bless the Lord for all the amazing things He has done, and they discover how to bless Him with their words, actions, and hearts.  A bright balloon display or a cheerful balloon arch at the entry can help set a joyful atmosphere as kids walk in.

Jesus borrowed a tomb for three days – He didn’t need it forever!  He rose again, proving He is the Son of God and giving up hope, forgiveness, and new life!

Father’s Day & Mother’s Day

Honour Your Father and Mother (Jesus and the Pharisees; Matthew 15)

Jesus confronted the Pharisees for failing to honour their parents.  They said the right words, but didn’t do the right thing.  Honouring your father and mother is important to God because He wants families to be strong, safe, loving places where children grow wise and learn how to follow Him.
