Cooee Kid’s Catch-Up #5
There are two new Bible Lessons that I am excited to tell you about.
That’s Torn It!
This lesson explains why Israel was divided into two kingdoms, the Northern and the Southern, while also teaching children the importance of obeying God and listening to the right advice. They’ll be taken aback at King Rehoboam’s treatment of his people because he listened to his friends instead of his father’s elders. This lesson’s explanation of Biblical history and the lineage of bad kings that follow highlights how wonderful our King Jesus is! And children learn who they should listen to! A character with the Gamertag ‘JerichoBlaster’ visits to help the children with the Memory Verse when a leader discovers screen tearing has occurred. JerichoBlaster can stick around to help play the games, too. The Mintie Paper Tearing Challenge and the Minute to Win It game of Tear It Up. Then tear up all kinds of paper to create a paper collage at craft time.

Fruity Lips!
I read Hebrews 13:15 ‘So let’s continually offer up a sacrifice of praise through him, which is the fruit from our lips that confesses His name.’ The name ‘fruity lips’ popped into my head, and there it stayed. The visual picture made me smile. So I thought it would make a wonderful lesson that would stick in the children’s minds, too. They learn what praise is, why God is worthy of our praise and how our relationship with Jesus makes it possible. It includes the stories of Paul and Silas in prison, Peter and John and the lame man, and the testimony of Barnabas and the early Church. If you’re brave, you can introduce instruments and give the children the opportunity to make up actions to the Memory Verse found in Psalm 111:1. There’s a Fruit Platter for morning tea, a game of Fruit Salad and a Fruit Basket to make.

Now you’re all caught up! I’m currently working on a new series that may be some 12 lessons long, and it’s requiring a lot of research. I’m enjoying the challenge, but I’m not sure when I will publish, fully or in part. I’m half writing and half what I call percolating!
Hope you love the new lessons as much as I have loved writing them. God bless you as you minister to the children God has placed in your care.
