The Fossicker’s Way

Barry and Beryl Fossicker, together with their 5 children, Jasper (17), Amber (15), Garnet (13), Opal (10) and Pearl (6) love to travel around Australia fossicking.  They’ll pan for gold, noodle for opals and travel down dry creek beds for quartz.  But Mr and Mrs Fossicker know the greatest treasure is God’s wisdom, and they use Proverbs from the Bible to instruct the children in the way they should live.

Lesson 1:  Introduction  If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you.  He will not rebuke you for asking.

Lesson 2:  Proverbs 1:7  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Lesson 3:  Proverbs 3:5&6  Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will make your paths straight.

Lesson 4:  Proverbs 4:23  Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Lesson 5:  Proverbs 12:11  Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense.

Lesson 6:  Proverbs 16:18  Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.
