I always have a little chuckle to myself when I’m standing in front of a Father’s Day card display, trying to choose a card for my Dad. There’s a card for a fishing Dad, a golfing Dad, a car‑loving Dad, a dog Dad, a sailing Dad, a camping‑in‑the‑woods Dad, and even a celebrate‑with‑champagne Dad.

My Dad is none of those things.

He’s been a mission‑focused Bible teacher and Pastor for as long as I’ve been alive — and strangely, there isn’t a Father’s Day card for that kind of Dad. So I usually settle on something with nice graphics and a fancy font, even though it doesn’t quite capture who he is.  Still, it always makes me smile. There really is a Father’s Day card for almost every type of Dad.
