Cooee Kids Catch-Up #9
It’s been a wonderfully productive start to 2026, with nine brand‑new lessons now ready for you to download and use in your Children’s Ministry. Each one has been crafted to help you teach God’s Word with creativity, clarity, and joy—giving you fresh tools to engage young hearts and support your volunteers as they serve.
Bible Lessons
Walk in Truth: Children learn that walking in truth means living honestly, obeying God’s Word, and letting Jesus guide their steps. To begin your program, invite children to take the True or False Stepping Stones. The Bible Lesson is ‘Gaius Walks in Truth’ from 3 John: 1-8. Larry Leashley, a dog walker, teaches the Memory Verse. Play the game of Doggie, Doggie, Who’s Got Your Bone? End your program with the Rectangular Dog craft, using scraps of paper.

Jesus Comes 1st: Children learn that Jesus is above everything and He deserves first place in their hearts, choices and lives. The Bible Lesson gives an overview of four different aspects of Jesus’ miraculous power. Eternal life with Jesus is better than any ribbon, medal or trophy! Match the medals to work out the Memory Verse. Play a game of Circle Cricket, and make a Jesus is 1st Medal for a craft.

Your Words Can Change a Life: Even the smallest voice can point someone to the biggest God. Just like the young girl in Naaman’s house, we can tell others what God has done – that’s what’s called a testimony. A short Memory Verse (Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story) is learned using repetition and emphasis. Play a game of Fruit Salad, and create a puppet. Use the activity sheet to encourage children to write out or draw a testimony they can share.

Wisdom from Above: God’s wisdom is different from the world’s wisdom! God’s wisdom helps us love, choose peace, and do what is right. That’s why King Solomon asked God for His wisdom to rule Israel and why God was so pleased with him. Make a maze using arrows and signs so children learn to trust in the Lord with all their hearts. Play a game of Pass the Crown. There’s a Heart Lacing/Sewing craft, complete with a template, too.

She’s the One: Children learn that God can be trusted with the big things in their lives: their future, their choices, their family and their dreams. When they pray, listen and follow God’s leading, He will guide them as faithfully as He guided Abraham’s family. Make a heart garland as a warm-up activity. The Bible lesson is about Abraham’s servant finding a bride for Isaac. Recap the story using a ‘wrapped in love’ pass the parcel game. Use chalk to draw a hopscotch using hearts instead of squares. There are three kinds of ‘heartfelt’ games to play. Create ‘full hearts’, a bag to fill, at craft time.

Sin is a Trap! The Bible teaches that the devil sets traps for people – not with cheese but with lies, temptations, and clever tricks. Children discover that the devil never once fooled Jesus, and that God sent Jesus to set trapped people free! This lesson combines the Bible stories of The Fall and The Temptation of Jesus. Children release the trapped words of the Memory Verse. Play a game of Escape the Snare, and make a Freedom Kite.

Easter
You Better Believe It! This lessonteaches children the definition of the word BELIEVE in a way they’ll never forget! They’ll learn that believing in Jesus means trusting Him with their whole hearts, relying on Him every day, and clinging to Him when life feels wobbly. It’s the story, Thomas Doubts, from John 20:19-29. The children learn a chant (with actions) for the Memory Verse as it’s about confession. There’s a game of Pandemonium to play and a craft of making and decorating glasses.

Super Sunday
Swashy in the Wash! Another lesson featuring two beloved characters – Salty and Swashy, both part-time deckhands and tour guides. Swashy, a keen surfer, is in the wash of doubt. Salty helps him with a lesson from James 1:5-12 about trials and wisdom. Just because you follow Jesus doesn’t mean you get a smooth ride. Use a Coconut Shy to learn the Memory Verse, and follow up with a game of Volleyball. There’s a cute beach camper to make using a paper plate.

Father’s Day
Breakfast with Dad: This lesson is designed to celebrate dads, father-figures, and most importantly, the goodness of our Heavenly Father. We can come to God boldly because He is a good Father who loves to give good gifts. There’s an easy, comedic skit that is a lot of fun to act out before sharing Jesus’ instructions about prayer from Luke 11:5-13. Find the Memory Verse in cereal boxes and complete a Backyard BBQ Breakfast Relay, and follow it up with a BBQ card made from a paper plate!

I think there’s something for everyone in these nine new lessons. God bless you as you serve in the largest, yet sometimes most forsaken, mission field on earth!
