You Little Ripper!
This year, Australia Day falls on a Sunday, which means you can run an Australia Day program in your Kids’ Ministry! There’s no excuse not to especially when it just so happens that Cooee Kid’s Ministry has some spectacular Australia Day and Australia-themed lessons ready for you to use.
Preschool Children:
God’s Aussie Creations!
Begin the lesson with a Parrot Feather Collage, then explore the unique Aussie animals that God created in the Bible story of Creation. Play a game of Kangaroo Tag, Parrot on a Perch, Pass the Spikey Echidna, Snake’s Tail or Sleeping Koala. Ice biscuits to create Koala Cookies.

Lower Primary Aged Children:
The Green and the Gold!
Use native wattle and eucalyptus crafts to make a garland or mural for your Kid’s Church space. Learn about the Apostle Paul’s advice to young Timothy about how soldiers, athletes and farmers are strong because they persevere. Use a water relay race to learn the Memory Verse. Hold a Great Australian Relay race and follow it with a Cockatoo Can Pencil Holder craft.

Boomerang!
A Bible lesson about God sending out His Word to do exactly what He wants it to do! There’s an Action Chant to learn the Memory Verse and a game of Kangaroo Tag. You might like an Aussie Picnic for Morning Tea.
Upper Primary Aged Children:
Shut the Door!
Keeping screen doors closed is important in an Australian summer! No one wants to allow the opportunity for a snake to slither indoors. Jack, Sophie and their friend Tom struggle with life choices that are an open invitation for Satan to ruin their lives. They learn that Jesus, like Ranger Josh who rescues them from a snake, takes deadly sin and gives them life! Freedom is celebrated with a paper chain Memory Verse made to break. Play a game of Stuck in the Mud and make a Cardboard Tube Windsock.
