You Need One of These!
I know what you’re thinking. What is it? I wish I could tell you, but even after an extensive internet search, I don’t know what it’s called. But I can tell you your Kid’s Ministry needs one.
I inherited it when I looked after a Kid’s Ministry for a year. At first I just tripped over the thing but before too long I came up with a number of uses for it.
#1: Wanted Poster
On our Country and Western Super Sunday I turned it into a wanted poster photo booth. Children had their photograph taken as they arrived. It really set the tone for a fun morning and families loved receiving the photos.
#2: Sideshow Alley Laughing Clown
Ekka time. That’s what we call the Queensland Royal Agricultural Show, the Exhibition, for short. I turned it into a Laughing Clown game for the children to throw balls of different sizes through it’s mouth to win.
#3: Nuclear Reactor
On a Superhero themed Father’s Day it became part of the superhero obstacle course. A nuclear reactor that could only be disarmed by having a ball thrown into its core.
#4: Dinosaur
Dino Day and it became a T-Rex in the obstacle course. A rubber steak (dog’s toy) had to be thrown into its mouth before the competitor could move onto the next challenge.
#5: ‘Who’s At the Door?’ Christmas Game
It became a decorated front door at our Kid’s Church Christmas Party. A child threw a snowball (aka wet sponge) at the leader or volunteer who had answered the door by putting their face into the wreath. Good fun!
So, I’m a big fan of…whatever it is! Ask a handy parent or grandparent to build you one. You’ll use it over and over again.
